Money Line

Picked: Oct 19 @ 3:36pm

Analysis

Rangers’ goalie, Dylan Garand, has posted an impressive 1.82 GAA in his six appearances this season. New York’s defense and goaltending have made up for any offensive shortcomings, allowing them to remain competitive even when the offense isn’t clicking. On the contrary, we’re seeing Ville Husso make only his second start, which introduces some uncertainty on the opposing side. With the Rangers holding an advantage in net and demonstrating the ability to keep games under control defensively, I’m backing New York to get the job done.

Picked: Oct 19 @ 12:37am

Analysis

I'm just not sure the Guardians will have an answer for Yandy Diaz in this series. Through five games, Diaz has recorded eight hits, including three multi-hit games. The Rays leadoff hitter has also recorded an extra base hit in 4 of the 5 games. With a bullpen game on tap for Cleveland in Game 6, I think the free swinging Diaz posts at least another extra base hit, if not multiple hits, as he leads the Rays to the World Series.

Over/Under

Picked: Oct 19 @ 9:45am

Analysis

Only twice all series has either team managed more than three runs. The Guardians’ bats have fallen silent and the Rays have a .511 postseason OPS vs. right-handers, plus a .587 OPS at home. Rays starter Freddy Peralta has been elite in the playoffs, and Guardians likely starter Tanner Bibee had two solid starts vs. Tampa in the regular season. Both teams have bullpens with playoffs ERAs under 3.

Outs Recorded

Picked: Oct 19 @ 9:50am

Analysis

Shop around because there is +135 available as the market is moving between 13.5 and 14.5 outs. Freddy Peralta went six shutout innings last time out against Cleveland at home, so I'll back him at plus money to finish five innings and show us something similar tonight. The Rays are up 3-2 and need to avoid seeing Gavin Williams in Game seven, but I think they only burn the bullpen early if Freddy is really struggling. The Rays have "long relievers" available but the underbelly of their bullpen has been a weakness. This is the last appearance for Peralta, and Kevin Cash saw the formula work last night of sticking with his starter and deploying only the best bullpen arms when needed.

Spread

Picked: Oct 19 @ 11:55am

Analysis

The pitching matchup heavily favors the Rays as Freddy Peralta has been dazzling since making adjustments with the Rays after the trade deadline. Plus, the Rays are feeling good vibes and coming home to close it out. The most likely scenario here is a multi-run Rays win, so I love the plus money.
